Getting their start in 2014, the men of GENTRI have only risen in star power these last few years. Made up of three tenors, Brad Robins, Casey Elliott and Bradley Quinn Lever, alongside their composer/producer, Stephen Nelson, GENTRI has taken over the hearts of listeners with their beautiful sound.
The three men first met in 2014 when they all starred in a regional theater production ofLes Miserables. Their sophisticated and rich vocals accompanied by intricate arrangements from Nelson have been only a small part of their fame; the men’s amazing ability to tell a story in every note they sing feels effortless and has lent itself to their success. The men have been recognized globally for their talent and music with their music videos being distributed on ABC World News, NBC Nightly, and their performances alongside Tony winners such as Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel and rock groups like OneRepublic and Journey.

What is your favorite track on the CD and why is it your favorite?
There are so many group favorites on this album, but one that sticks out has to be “Dare”. It is one of the first originals that we ever wrote and released. To this day it stands as the group’s mantra to shoot for the stars and always “dare to dream”.
What is the most challenging song on the CD for you to sing?
One of the most challenging songs to sing is “Be Still My Soul,” but not for the reasons you may expect. This arrangement was given to us by Stephen Nelson, our music director and arranger. Our three-part arrangement was based on the original arrangement that he put together for his mother’s funeral years ago. Every time we sing it, we are reminded of the sacred nature of not only this hymn, but this arrangement in particular due to its close personal ties to a member of the group.
What song are you most excited to sing?
Again, this is a very difficult question to answer as we love all of our music. With that said, our arrangement of Danny Boy is one we love to sing as it takes us back to the beautiful Irish landscapes where we actually filmed our music video. Check that out along with dozens of other GENTRI music videos on our YouTube channel.
What or who influences your music?
We are inspired to write and tell stories about universal principles that resonate with the human soul. Music has the unique ability to inspire, motive and heal the depths of our soul in a way that nothing else can. Connecting with people in this unique way inspires us to continue to do what we do every single day.
What’s coming up next from GENTRI?
We will be releasing a brand new Christmas album with never before heard arrangements in Fall 2021. Stay tuned and follow along @GENTRImusic for more info coming soon!
Anything else you would like to share with the Legendary Vocals community?
We are honored to be part of the Legendary Vocals community and respect all of the other artists for their commitment to using their musical talents to help make the world a brighter and better place.
What song of yours do you feel like tells the best story?
“Home” is special to us as it’s one of the first originals we ever wrote together as a group, and speaks to a tender subject that we will all experience at one point in our lives. It tells the story of a loved one who has passed on to the other side. If they could write just one letter back to those left behind, the lyrics of the song are what that letter may say.
Would you guys ever do theater again together?
We love doing musical theater and were so honored to reprise the roles we did back in 2014 again in a recent production of Les Miserables in 2021. Theater will always be in our blood, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we took to the theater stage again one day.
What’s your favorite musical theater show?
It probably varies by group member, but overall Les Miserables plays a huge role in our GENTRI story and consequently holds a very special place in all of our hearts.
