As fall comes fast around the corner, as the leaves start to change colors, and kids start going back to school, I wanted to compile a playlist of songs that feel dear to my heart. Each song reminds me of autumn in some way; the warm colors, the vivid leaves, the toasty, cozy feeling you get in your chest as the season begins to change. These songs are perfect to play as you say goodbye to the kids as they go back to school, as you bake yummy fall treats in the oven, and as you contemplate the fun-filled summer ending.
Brooklyn Duo rose to prominence in the music world in 2014 after releasing classical interpretations of two popular pop songs, Shakira's Empire and John Legend's All of Me. Marnie and Patrick Laird, a married couple who met in 2006 and married in 2012, have been playing piano and cello respectively, for a long time. Patrick and Marnie both attended prestigious music schools and worked as professional musicians for a few years before deciding to release the covers that catapulted them to prominence.
